2. DMM vinyl version arrived in perfect condition. While Caress of Steel was not my favorite Rush album, it was monumental in setting the stage for the progressive epic masterpieces that would follow. Taking up the entire B side, "The Fountain of Lamneth" was (and remains) one of the most beloved songs/5().

Rush's second album of and third full-length overall, Caress Of Steel marked the band's emergence into more hard prog-rock styles as opposed to the blues-based style of the group’s first two releases. Singles included “The Necromancer” and “Lakeside Park.” Although the album peaked at # on the Billboard charts, it has since gone gold in both the U.S. and Canada.

5. About Caress of Steel. Although the band initially had high hopes for Caress of Steel, it was considered a disappointment by the record company. The album eventually became known as one of Rush’s most obscure and overlooked recordings. Die hard fans feel the record is underrated.

Caress of Steel has been newly-remastered on gram, heavyweight vinyl at legendary Abbey Road Studios using the Direct to Metal Mastering (DMM) audiophile copper plating process, all from original analogue masters. Both the band's second album to be released in and the band's third release, Caress of Steel, marked RUSH's emergence into more hard prog-rock styles as opposed to the blues.

8. Apr 01,  · Last year, sometime, I received the somewhat infamous Rush album Caress Of Steel reissued on vinyl. You know that expensive reissue on gram virgin vinyl. Though long ago purchased on CD, cassette and vinyl the new record was meant to fill out the collection of Rush reissues. Like others, I never really cared for this album though it.
