3. Well, Seam is beyond underrated; they are a great lost rock band, the 90's version of Simply Saucer (OK, so the parallels are not exact). Not totally dissimilar to Bedhead or even Galexie , on their first record Seam also channels 80's indie pioneers such as the Pixies and Sonic Youth/5(5).

Jan 23,  · Seam first began as a super group of sorts within the North Carolina indie scene; their debut Headsparks featured, among others, Superchunk's Mac McCaughan, Bitch Magnet's Soo-Young Park, and Velocity Girl's Sarah Shannon. Thus it was easy to predict the direction of the music: Headsparks played like an effortless summation of Chapel Hill's noise rock, sometimes lazy but at /5(9).

6. DELUXE PACKAGED 2LP W/ CD:The cover of Frigid Stars sets the mood well -- a negative black and white shot of some stars, looking even more haunting as a result. As for the album, the tone isn't simply being cold or unemotional, but simply gripped by a deep black mood, where everything seems on the verge of suddenly going wrong or collapsing.

8. Frigid Stars (Vinyl) [Vinilo] New Year's (co-written by Bitch Magnet singer Sooyoung Park but not recorded by him until the first Seam album, Headsparks, two years later). Codeine here sound a touch cleaner than elsewhere on Frigid Stars, where the guitars can really sprawl when needed, but Brokaw's drumming and Immerwahr's great delivery.
