  5. Best you can say about Sun Ship is it's an interesting historical artifact. Its musical/artistic value and its standing in Coltrane's magnificent catalog is questionable. (Don't blast me for not appreciating. I am quite well versed in avant garde jazz of the 60s' - Coltrane, Dolphy, Ornette, Shepp, Ayler, Kirk, Andrew Hill - the list goes on. I /5(42).
